‘Deadpool 2’ Knocks ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ & Breaks Box Office Record for an R-Rated Movie

‘Avengers-Infinity War’ is one of top grossing films of all times, while ‘Black Panther’ is top grossing superhero pic of all time domestically.

But, over the May 18-20 weekend, Deadpool 2 debuted to $301 million globally. Deadpool 2 has smashed all desires with its huge opening & given that all desires were pretty bloody high in first spot, this means it did superb.

Deadpool 2 is already tearing up box office records, proving that audiences still are not tired of superhero movies. Having taken an estimated $125 million over course of its opening weekend, this movie not only dethrones ‘Avengers: Inifinity War’ from its top spots, but also broke record for highest grossing opening day for an R-rated movie, raking in $53.3m on Friday.

Deadpool 2 was made for an estimated $110 million, which was a big jump up from first Deadpool movie’s $58 million budget. Compare that to $200 million budget for ‘Black Panther’, or reported $300 million budget of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

Deadpool 2 also delivered Fox its biggest international debut in domestically & history, two Deadpool pics represents Fox’s biggest box-office openings ever.
