The cancer cells of cribriform carcinoma infect the stroma which are connective tissues in the breast and forms nestlike between lobules and ducts. There are extraordinary holes in between the cancer cells, within tumor and looks like Swiss cheese. Cells behave partially normal and healthy breast cells as cribriform carcinoma is usually low grade. Usually some portion of the tumor can be considered cribriform in about 5 to 6% of breast cancer.
